The 16th Annual Hunts Point Fish Parade and Summer Festival

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Individuals, groups and organizations are invited to participate in the 16th Annual  Hunts Point Fish Parade and Summer Festival, Saturday, June 15, 2019.

To register as a marcher, performer or vendor at the Hunts Point Fish Parade fill the form below:

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT (Payments for vendors only). DEADLINE IS MONDAY, JUNE 3, 2019. You can also pay in person cash or money order at THE POINT’s office. Mon. – Fri. 11 am to 5 pm.

The 16th Annual Hunts Point Fish Parade and Summer Festival on Saturday, June 15, 2019 ~ 10-5PM Parade kicks off at Hunts Point Riverside Park (Lafayette Ave. & Edgewater Rd.), registration at 10 AM and parade arrives at Barretto Point Park (Viele Ave. and Tiffany St.) approximately 12 PM. 

Cash prizes for groups and individuals that best exemplify the theme “TBA”.
Special guests all throughout the morning!!!

Hunts Point Summer Festival Barretto Point Park (Viele Ave and Tiffany St) festivities begin at 12 PM and end at 4:45 PM. Main stage showcases and raffles will only take place at Barretto Point Park. This year’s FREE action-packed festival details include…

  • Free shuttle bus throughout the day to and from Barretto Point Park and other stops throughout Hunts Point. See below for the map showing trolley stops every 30 minutes throughout Hunts Point from 11:45AM-4: 15 PM.

  • Greening the City Arts Festival, art activities led by The Laundromat Project

  • Hunts Point Basketball Classic Tournament

  • Main stage performances.

  • FREE raffles

  • Special guests throughout the afternoon!!!

Note this event is rain or shine.

In case of poor weather conditions, we will move all festival activities to THE POINT CDC’s main campus on 940 Garrison Avenue. Itinerary subject to change. Join us for a night of social justice & art at TEEN IMPACT hosted by our Teen Arts & Activism Intern Ruby Noboa. THE POINT Teen Programs come together to demonstrate how we tackle environmental and social justice issues through the arts. Attendees will sign up for up to two workshops in the following areas: Visual Arts, Circus Arts, Theater & Writing. Learn to articulate your concerns through the arts with Cirque du Vie, Open Hydrant Theater Company & our Teaching Artists in Residence. We will be offering some conscious catering and close out the night with a party from 7-8:30 pm.

ABOUT

NYC’s first-ever citywide celebration of the arts—for teens, by teens

Leading cultural organizations in all five boroughs will present free classes, workshops and performances for teens from May 13-19, 2019. Events enable teens to gain hands-on experience in different areas of the arts, engage with professionals in the creative industries, and explore pathways to future leadership within the context of the arts. Open to all NYC teens 14+ with a valid school ID. Educators are encouraged to bring student groups, both during and after regular school hours.

This walk will focus on public art and environmental justice in Hunts Point in the South Bronx, the city’s heart of manufacturing and food distribution, a base of arts and activism, and the birth place of hip-hop. The tour explores how industry, community and nature intersect to fuse art, environmental and social justice in an inner-city neighborhood. After the walk, Tammy Wofsey will hold a FREE printmaking workshop at THE POINT’s Riverside Campus for Arts and The Environment at 1391 Lafayette Ave. Bronx, NY 10474.

Dracula and his friends try to bring out the monster in his half human, half vampire grandson in order to keep Mavis from leaving the hotel.

 

April 27: Hotel Transylvania 3 (2pm, PG)

Dracula and company participate in a cruise for sea-loving monsters, unaware that their boat is being commandeered by the monster-hating Van Helsing family.

Activity to follow, for all ages!

MOVIES SUBJECT TO CHANGE. If the movies do not arrive in time, no biggie. We'll watch something else.
